Mission Statement

The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County (JGSCV)  is a non-profit organization, run by enthusiastic volunteers, dedicated to the sharing of genealogical information, techniques, and research tools with those interested in Jewish genealogy and family history.  Members, who include both beginners and experienced genealogists, share information with each other.

We invite residents of nearby communities to join our constituency and benefit from “venturing into our past” by researching our Jewish family histories.  Indeed, this is what JGSCV is all about:

We are searching our Jewish roots;

We are devoted to our personal Genealogy;

We are a Society fostering interest in researching our mutual ancestry;
We are Conscious of our responsibility to share the results of our discoveries;
We are the Vanguard of the Conejo/Ventura Jewish community in recording our history.

We meet 10 months a year on a Sunday at Temple Adat Elohim in Thousand Oaks. Meetings are oriented to the needs of the novice as well as the more experienced genealogist.
